This traverse from the Annapurna section to Dolpa will take you on a journey into a complete no-man’s-land with spectacular desolate landscapes. The views of the Himalaya are amazing, especially from the Jalja La pass (3386 m) where you can see a whole range of mountains up close like Dhaulagiri (8167 m) and Gurja Himal (7193 m).
Dhorpatan Wildlife reserve is a beautiful, rough area which until recently was only frequented by hunters in search of blue sheep which are quite abundant here. In this itinerary there is a 3 day stretch where you will not encounter any settlements until you reach Jang La pass (4519 m) leading you into Dolpa. Bringing your own tent and cooking means is essential on this trail.
